If you need castors for your cab

Thanks for this! I was thinking about castors recently too, but didn't want to fit them to my cabs for various reasons, not least because of possible damage to the cabs due to clumsy 'wheeling' (on my part, being a cack-handed git).

I toyed with the idea of a wheeled dolly, but gave that up as impractical, then considered some form of sack truck, but robust ones seemed too heavy and took up too much car space - so in the end I went with this, £19.99 from Maplins. Carries up to 80kg and folds completely flat for storage.

Hope this doesn't constitute thread derailment, AM! :D

I have these on my cab, £17.67:

Really good quality, no trouble over gravel/uneven car-parks, and two are locking, so once your cab is in the right position on stage, it can be locked in place. Definitely the best castors I`ve ever had, on any cab.

I do like those. But do they add or subtract value from your cab, should you want to move it on?

Those are the 100mm versions of the ones I linked. Very good if you're likely to have to wheel the thing across gravel/car parks with ruts etc., but they'll add yet another inch to the height of your cab, which is either good or bad.

Well I`ve had the same set on 4 cabs now, and no problems with selling the previous 3 on, although I must admit, those cabs all had castors anyway, so I just took the old ones off, and put these on, then replaced the old ones when selling. I just use self-tappers to screw them on - a lot easier than drilling holes through the cabs. Never had any problems with them coming loose either.

And yes, they do add a bit of height to the cab, so if tight on space in the car, get the tape measure out.

Just noticed the seller has shifted 1,302 sets of these! :o
