waynepunkdude Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 You don't get them talked about on here which I find strange as they have crafted there very own sound around some very driven and powerful bass lines. Chris is a fantastic bassist. Anyone else a fan? Quote

mep Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 I've never been a fan of them and was disappointed at some festival coverage of them in the past. Although our band does a cover of Fire which I really enjoy playing and doing the Backing vocals. At first I was was not into the original and it was down to their sound and pace. Ours is true to the original format but feels more lively. Quote
Mornats Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Yeah I'm a big fan. Saw them play in Cardiff last year and thought they had a great live sound. They do come up with some interesting sounds. Quote
YouMa Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 I used to think they were just another band, but they have proved me wrong,i quite like them now, they seem to get away with being some weird 90s band in the 21st century. Quote
Commando Jack Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 I don't really enjoy their recorded music as it always seemed a bit limp. However, the songs are solid and I really enjoy covering them (we do Fire and LSF at the mo). Quote
Evil Undead Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 (edited) I sold a bass to them last year. Which was cool. I'm not really a fan though TBH, never been really in to indie. Edited July 6, 2012 by Evil Undead Quote
ern500evo Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Yes I quite like some of their stuff, we do Club Foot which is good fun to play, and sometimes put Shoot the runner in the set too. Quote
Protium Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Terrific band, seen them four times spanning the first 3 albums. Good call Wayne Quote
lojo Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 6 music live on iplayer has a concert by them at the m Quote
phil.i.stein Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 (edited) approx. one in four of their tracks i like. the rest i could live without. all in all, not bad for a pop band. Edited July 7, 2012 by phil.i.stein Quote
Chrisabian Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 (edited) I used to be addicted to Kasabian's first album, they had a very distinct, sort of eerie sound which I was hooked on. They had some fantastic basslines to boot. Their live gigs really had a big impact on me looking back...they were the first band I saw live and it has stuck with me ever since. However, after the departure of Chris Karloff I felt their sound changed quite drastically and I really couldn't get into their new material at all. It's a pity as I really did love them. Panamonte Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 re. Club Foot video - all those bullet holes and yet they still missed? There's no justice Quote
About the same. When they're on, they're on... just it's one in four, or thereabouts, these days. Quote
JTUK Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Obviously not a fan but nothing I've seen as LIve TV makes me want to delve any deeper. The songs seems to add up to a complete zero to me.. Quote
discreet Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 I don't find them too offensive really, but they seem a bit lightweight to me. *deaf* Quote
spongebob Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Don't do much for me either...all a bit too much of a re-tread of various things to really inspire. Probably a good live act, though. Quote
Marvin Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 They don't do a lot for me. I find them a tad bland. Quote
thepurpleblob Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Ridiculous haircuts.... kids today etc etc Quote
