paul_5 Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012
Looks Legit.
Nice use of Poe's law there. Looks more JapCrap than fender to me... Quote
Commando Jack Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 (edited) Misleading title yes but he clearly states it's a Squier in the description. Maybe an amended title is in order. Edit:Just saw the last pic which seems to show the fretboard hanging over the heel of the neck. Is this normal? Edited July 6, 2012 by Commando Jack Quote
BILL POSTERS Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Is it me or are the tuner holes too small ? looks like its drilled for the little Goto copies that are on my old Eros. Decal looks wrong, there was a japcrap Bass that had the fretboard overhang at the heel, but I cant remember what it was, dont think it was Squier though. Quote
pst62 Posted July 6, 2012 Author Posted July 6, 2012 Never noticed the overhang but did notice the cheap sh*t nut! Quote
DarkHeart Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 (edited) the heel join has been done manually and badly by the look of it, if you look closely the radius on each side dont match and its not square across the bottom, it could be a squire neck that s been bodged to fit another body. Edited July 6, 2012 by DarkHeart Quote
noelk27 Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 (edited) Well, the HM/HMT basses had an overhang, as did some of the Plus models, but those were all 22-fret necks. The likes of the HM/HMT models also had small tuners, but those were all three screw fixed. Given how badly aligned the holes for the tuning pegs are, as well as the holes for the tuner backplates, I'd say it's neither fish nor fowl. Neither a Fender nor Squier. It's getting to be the easiest explanation for the con, saying the "fake" Fender neck started life as a Squier, when it's just fake, period. Edited July 6, 2012 by noelk27 Quote
Nibody Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 That isn't even a squier. I'd say its from a Satellite or similair Quote

yorks5stringer Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 Looking at the other stuff they have for sale it's clear they must know a bit about instruments...so to clearly mislead like that is surely something ebay should be aware of? Quote
chrismuzz Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 If its obvious to a noob like me you're wasting your time Quote
yorks5stringer Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Ended up not being sold, I did contact them and said if it was genuine then I'd sell a pot of air from the Stone Roses gig as genuine too..... Quote
