How did you discover Basschat

hmm, i think it was a google search for some kind of bass, and bassworld came up, must have been like the last week before it shut down, i signed up to bassworld, posted like 3 times, n then was told to move!

pretty much the same here, think i found talkbass first but didnt like it much over there and then stumbled on bassworld. i was joining a band and needed some help brushing up on my dusty memories of playing had to learn a load of songs and try and find a bass and amp. Though i didnt buy one for ages this place eased my gas (didnt know what that was then) but caused much moral torment
i lurk, i go away, i come back, i sometimes join in, i sometimes say too much. But such a nice bunch dont seem to mind.

I also found bassworld via a Google search, although I can't remember what the search was for, eventually found my way here.

Was looking for a specific bass picture on google images and by accident came across bassworld - loved looking at all the lovely bass porn! And from there, got caught in the groove!

This is really interesting. Keep em' coming! I am impressed we do so well on google. Every time I search for a specific piece of equipment on a UK search, Basschat is among the top links!

For me it was a Google search back in 2005 when I was looking to take up bass again after a 20 year hiatus. I came across Bassworld, registered and bought my Cort A4. Then my son was born early, I've had to work away from home most weeks and I've hardly had a chance to play the bloody thing

Not playing much doesn't stop the GAS though ...

I joined Talkbass and constantly ranting on there about how american then are and they get cheeper stuff and I made a post about wheres the best place to find UK 2nd hand bass's, I got the link for Basschat and I havent looked back..

Google again - I saw a Digitech Bass Harmony Machine on That Ebay, wanted to find out more, and google found someone selling one on Basschat.

I never did buy it after all.

I've absolutely no idea. I might have been a member of BW in a previous life though, 'cos there's a link in me favourites list. Glad I'm here and been "forced" into spending a ton of money on stuff that I probably don't need and certainly doesn't help me play any better though.

I was searching the internet for info on Fender Jazz basses and Bassworld came up in a Google search. Can't remember if it was 2004 or 2005. Been lurking here ever since though.

An ex student told me I might find a buyer for my bass, which I eventually sold on the warwick forum but I'm still here many hundreds of posts and a few new students (thanks to Basschat) later.
