Jazz Basses - just dots, or blocks and binding?

Having had something of a Damascene conversion to the A necked beasties recently, I've decided that henceforth, all my basses, including the black Precision, will eventually have bound-and-blocks 'A' necks.

For example the ex-Shockwave bitsa now wears an Allparts black blocks neck. Lee's (Rasta) jazz (swapping for 51RI tomorrow) has white binding/pearl blocks. When I can afford it, I'll get anoher Allparts black blocks jobbie for the P bass, thereby making it like the custom one-off shown on page 54 of The Fender Bass: An Illustrated History., except mine has a b/w/b pickguard.

Anyone else as blocks-bonkers as this?

No, can't stand blocks. I do love the '65-'66 dot and bound Jazzes withe the lollipop tuners, though!

Yup, like them too! In fact, maybe I could put some Hipshot UltraLite ovals/paddles/lollipops/whatever on one of the Jazzes...Hmmmm...

Just been to a party so can't think straight. Blocks and binding absolutely essential for a Jazz bass - I prefer rosewood, bound and blocked J boards myself. Dammit, sparkling wine is making it difficult to typer.............. Right, I'll post a good binding provider on here as soon as I can type prooprely

I did that on a Jap non-export dot n bound I had: stuck some Hipshot lollies on it. A fellow Basschatter now owns that bass.

I can't seem to remember how to link on my phone, but if you look at the thread I posted last night about a bound and blocked Jazz...that bass is about all I have to say on the subject! IN LOVE!!!
