I recently came across this maker CATALDO who has been producing gorgeous examples of the classic John Entwistle "Fenderbird" type basses. Its obvious from all the stuff i've read so far that the attention to detail and quality of workmanship is very high but it will cost well over a grand to import one from the USA. Has anyone got one/had one/wants to trade one?

Ive got one,
actually its the White one pictured above that i own..
its sitting next to me now..

i love the bass, plays and sounds fabulous.

Carlo is a great guy and its definitely worth a punt on one.
You could have it shipped with the neck off the body, cost around $100.00 via the postal Service, rather than shipping a guitar at around $300.00 with a courier.

There's a thread on TB at the moment where one of his customers is ranting about the quality of the finish. I haven't read the thread properly so I don't know if the customer is right or not, but it might be worth reading before you order one.

Really? "ranting" sounds like its not good then. can you send the link for the thread, thisnameistaken?

jimijimmi, so the white one is yours? Thats the one that turned me on to these basses, its so simple looking but its stunning. Can i be a bit forward and ask how much you paid for your custom and thanks for the info regarding the postal options.
