BH12neil
I have just bought a second hand Soundcraft Notepad 102 which I want to hook up to my PC. I am really confused over what cable I require, there seems so many types - balanced, unbalanced, stereo, mono etc - and I don't know what cable I need to go for. Can someone give me some advice and a pointer in the right direction, a link to a particular product would be good so that I can see exactly what I need. Of course I have done my own research but I am now more confused than when I started. All advice appreciated in advance. Alec 'Aleb' Mills
balanced is always a good idea, if its applicable to whatever cable you are using. I believe the simplest way, and the way I do it with my desk is this: I believe there are RCA outputs labelled 'REC OUT' - thats the one you want. so for that you want one of these (as an example) http://www.thomann.d...ake_yrk2015.htm a 3.5mm stereo jack to RCA so you can just plug into your 'line in' or 'mic' port on your PC. alternatively there are USB interfaces which include software such as http://www.woodbrass.com/en/product_info.php?calculport_country_id=222&products_id=88576&af=833& but I cannot really comment on this as I don't use it.
