Subthumper Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Hi all, as the title suggests I'm trying to find out the response of this cab as I have to build a crossover for it to run with a 2X10. I know that manufacturers are usually a little optimistic and somewhat vague with their figures so was wondering if anyone might know. Or if anyone can tell me what speaker is used so I can look up the spec somewhere. Cheers Just Quote
Sharkfinger Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 I used to own one, along with an SWR 2x10. I couldn't give you an exact figure but I'd say look around the bottom of the 'low-mid' range. Maybe around the 60Hz range? Quote
Badass Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 For a PDF manual, I see freq response is 25Hz - 3KHz Manual here: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/derivates/25/001/430/863/DV040_PDF_Copy_2EF60262-77BB-4540-8B4B-3A558B3C7374.pdf Quote
winterfire666 Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 depends on the driver, the original ones were loaded with the epic bagend driver, these were replaced with a custom eminence at some point which doesnt go as low or as high Quote
Balcro Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 You might want to plough through this recent thread to get some idea of the possible complications - http://basschat.co.uk/topic/180507-does-anyone-make-a-separate-mid-range-speaker-for-a-modular-system/ You need to consider the efficiency of the proposed 2x10 so that it matches the loudness of the BigBen. The SWR website says the Big Ben has a reference efficiency of 97dB for 1 watt of input. What is the specification for your 2x10? Balcro. Quote
