Clarky Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 (edited) I recently picked up a Warwick Thumb 5. It had a set of Warwick steel strings on which I could not definively ascertain and I had good things read about Warwick EMP coated strings so I bought a set of those for a cool £42.95 at Stringsdirect http://www.stringsdi..._strings_45_135. They appear identical to the strings that were on the Warwick beforehand (albeit they are new)! Well, to cut to the chase, I've decided I prefer EB Slinky nickelwound strings to the Warwicks and am thus selling my two sets of Warwick strings - one defo EMP and on the bass for a matter of a few days only (a couple of hours home noodling use only), the other probably EMP but worn in. How does £30 posted for both sets sound? Edited July 23, 2012 by Clarky
Clarky Posted July 22, 2012 Author Posted July 22, 2012 Bump, £30 for a £43 set of strings (barely used) and what appears to be a backup, older set of the same type of strings. So £30 for what originally cost £86? Sounds fair do's to me!
uncle psychosis Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Do you think they'd fit on a 36" bass strung 3+2? How coated do they feel? Can you tell they're coated- I never got on with slinkys...
Clarky Posted July 22, 2012 Author Posted July 22, 2012 Hmm, I rather doubt they would fit as the headstock on a Thumb is not long and the scale length is 34". Sorry. Although its probably irrelevant, I can't tell that they are coated at all. They feel like typical hard stainess steel strings to me (I prefer nickel and don't generally like s/s)
