lucatus Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 (edited) Hi there. Reluctantly, I have to sell my MIJ Yamaha TRB6, bought here a few months ago. It's a great bass but unfortunately my dodgy neck doesn't seem to like it... 35" scale for that great sound on the B string, bolt-on, original picks and preamp... I love the sound in this basses, you can hear it here: http://www.myspace.c...ifford-88290876 Little pic here: And more here: http://s177.photobuc.../Yamaha%20TRB6/ As I mentioned on BC before, the volume pot doesn't cut the sound completely. This is something I also noticed on my first TRB and seems to explain why this basses drain so much battery, but as I also mentioned, on this one is less noticeable than on my previous one and you need to have the amp very loud to notice it. Little dings on body and neck and a bit of rust on one of the frets, all expected on a bass from the 90's, but nothing serious. I tried to show everything on the pictures and I can always take more pics on demand. Pricewise, I bought it for 550 without case or gigbag, then spent 80 at Wild Guitars fixing a missing pot and replacing the dodgy jack the previous owner forgot to mention.., so I think it's reasonable to ask for 550, including an old gigbag and Dunlop straplocks. I'm more than willing to meet on reasonable distance if you wanna try it (I'm based in Holloway, London). If you wanna come to Holloway to try it, I promise I can make a decent cup of tea. [s]Trades? Sorry, not looking for anything at the moment, prefer a straight sale.[/s] I still need the cash but I'm open to partial trades, WHY? I'm not looking for nothing in particular, but a TRB5 in the same colour would be most welcome! Cheers. NOW SOLD,PENDING COLLECTION AND PAYMENT.THANKS Edited September 6, 2012 by lucatus
Chris Horton Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 That's a great looking TRB, Am I right in saying that this is the trb6ii model though ?
lucatus Posted July 12, 2012 Author Posted July 12, 2012 (edited) Hi Chris! You mean the MarkII? Yes, it is. I didn't mention it because I didn't want to mix with the TRBII (the neck-through-piezo, etc.) and I thought it would be easy not to take it for a MarkI. It's very clear here, on this photo from the Photobucket album: And it really saddens me to sell it, I was so happy to have a TRB once again.. Edited July 12, 2012 by lucatus
Chris Horton Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Yeah that's it , these are fantastic bass guitars . Excellent value for money. Lots of sound for your pound !
lucatus Posted July 13, 2012 Author Posted July 13, 2012 Absolutely, I also have a Bongo and a Pedulla, in theory "better" basses, but this one has the best sound... I would be tempted to swap it for a 5 string TRB, but right now I'm getting along very well with the other ones (also 5ers) so I'll try to supress the GAS.
lucatus Posted July 18, 2012 Author Posted July 18, 2012 Bump for new photos on Photobucket
echoesoffloydaaron Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Lovely bass! You should have no problem selling this!
lucatus Posted July 25, 2012 Author Posted July 25, 2012 Thanks! It's lovely indeed, let's hope I can find a proper home for it!
lucatus Posted August 4, 2012 Author Posted August 4, 2012 Post gig (with other bass) bump... This lovely underdog is begging to be played...
lucatus Posted August 11, 2012 Author Posted August 11, 2012 Bump Have to say I almost called this off, used the bass on a couple of rehearsals and I really wanted to keep it... until my dodgy neck indicated otherwise. Whoever gets this wonder, I envy you....
