Mr Fretbuzz
Not sure what to get. Only need the 300 at the moment gigging to cows from the bedroom but would a more powerful head and separate cab be a better option for the future? Thanks guys...your views appreciated. :-). The heads are new EVO iii.
Mr Fretbuzz
...I'll get in there first..I guess it depends if the cows extend to a full field of various animals :-)
JTUK
Amp and 210 and then add another 210 when req'd
Johnnyc
I have a Mag 600 & 4x10 & 1x15 just sitting at home since I got my new gear... They were great for bigger shows but when you're on small stages or at pub gigs where you only need 1 cab you miss the convenience of a combo that you can tilt up, rather than your half-stack blasting your feet... Do they not do a Mag600 combo? By the way with the combo's you can attach an extra cab anyways, so you could sit the combo on top of a 4x10 or another 2x10
ojplaysbass
i've been using a mag 300 combo for about 8 years now - its never shaken my rib cage but it has always been loud enough (i've done theatre shows to metal gigs to function gigs with it). incredible 'work horse' combo. Mr Fretbuzz
Yep they do a new 600 4x10 combo which I've seen for 649..... I guess having that in the bedroom is divorce material and I'd have a hernia either way, whether lifting it or at the hands of the wife :-). That's good value when you consider the 600 head and 2x10 cab is about
Paulgm1
Based on your situation, I reckon the combo is best bet especially if price comes into play. I have a MAG 2x10 combo and bought a compact 115 recently as an extension speaker to give it more headroom for larger places so you have that option later if needed. The combo should be ok for most pub sized gigs to be honest.
BluRay
Amp and 210 and then add another 210 when req'd
+ 1 ...just gives a little more flexability when it comes to replacing or upgrading at a later point. Valhalalf
I'm selling a pair of Ashdown MAG cabs I had been using with an EVO III head, more than enough volume and can stack horizontally. SpaceChick
I will be watching this thread with interest..... I'm needing to start my gigging career with my Peavy 112, but I know I will need to upgrade. I was thinking I'd rather go for a punchy loud combo, but will be very interested to hear views. Alec 'Aleb' Mills
definately head and seperate cabs. more modular, flexible and slightly easier to carry. I have an old ashdown EB 180 combo, and its quite heavy. I'll be looking to get head & cab when I upgrade. xD Edited July 13, 2012 by Alec 'Aleb' Mills
Benplaysbass
I have a Mag c410-300 combo use it with the mag 115 cab and its plenty loud enough. But The combo has to go!!! Its just too damn heavy. If it goes this weekend(fingers crossed) then I will get just the mag 300 head and another cab.
