Spoombung
It's been a long hunt... about 25 years or so... but I've finally found a superb compressor pedal, the Taurus Tux: It can produce a huge variety of sounds from squashy to subtle. It's easily the most versatile compressor I've come across. The 'range' knob is interesting; its a tone filter and you can choose how much of the tone spectrum you want compressed from the bottom frequencies upwards. It means you can let uncompressed higher frequencies through if you wish. All the knobs make a big difference, hence the variety of sounds. The operation is noiseless and distortion free. I could never find another compressor that sounded the same as the one in my old H/H amp. This can easily imitate it. I use compression in different amounts on the two basses I use - from medium to light and this handles it really well. This is the video that caught my interest: and also these (very accurate) reviews: http://www.ovnilab.c...tuxsilver.shtml http://www.ovnilab.c.../tuxblack.shtml The product is Polish and there's only one dealer in the UK: http://www.bassbarn.co.uk/ Edited July 29, 2012 by Spoombung
