Anyone run an ashdown head through an ampeg cab?

More or less what the name says, anyone have opinions on this combo? More specifically, an evo ii ABM 500 and an SVT 8x6.

The reh studio I use has an ABM300 (??) thru a Classic810.......sounds nice. Much better than I thought it would.

There wont be an issue, you don't need to match brands between amplifiers and cabinets.

As to what it sounds like, that depends entirely upon the Amp and Cab in question. A MAG300 and a SVT-18 is going to sound radically different to a Superfly and a SVT-210HE.

Yeah ran ABM 500 through a Ampeg 8x10. Sounded awesome till my head blew up!!! (See other topic)

To be honest I think the fact that you have a SVT 806HE means that very few people are going to have tried this combination as the cab never sold very well and reasonably scarce.

I run a MAG 300 through a SVT610HLF as a backup rig and it's ok, but quite woolly. OK as a backup to my main amplifier (which is what I bought the Ashdown for) but I'd not have it as a rig of choice.

once - on a big stage i used someone's 4 ohm ampeg 6x10 (possibly 8x10) with my abm 300 thingy
it was fckin loud i know that much. i'd set my output at about 12 o'clock thinking, "it'll be alright, it's a big room and a big stage" (pro venue at loughborough uni). i was politely requested to turn down by the FOH soundman.

Sounded really good.
