I recall seeing a guy battering an Aria SB1000 through one back in the '90s and it sounded woolly with next to no definition. Might have been his tone settings but it sounded bowff! [/quote] Some might have been, they were made badly with poor components, thus were very inconsistent, and got more inconsistent as the components aged.
