kevin_lindsay
I'm just sitting at home playing my bass and have just thought about the fact that I started playing around age 15. Here I am now, aged 48, and I love playing bass every bit now as I did back then. That is all.
BassMan94
I've just managed to reach the 1 year marker, playing wise. It's all I do Learn something new everyday.
lowdowner
Hey, i've been playing for 10 months and loving it more and more every day! It's a fantastic sound/feel/groove... good for you!
paul_5
I'm 20 years in this year, still loving it.
LiamPodmore
5 years and i actually find it more fun now than i did when i started. Playing slightly cheesy Pop/Punk mixed with VERY cheesy pop covers on stage is honestly the most fun thing i have ever done, especially when you have over a hundred people joining in with you. Even just sitting at home playing them is damn fun, i start dancing when i'm recording covers sometimes. Liam

Cameronj279
I like this thread. It also just dawned on me that I've been playing for exactly two years now (give or take a day or two). I love it more than I did when I started now.
OliverBlackman
been playing 10 years, very seriously for 3 of those. I haven't been playing for the past month though because of this damn dissertation! So this thread is just rubbing it in!!!!
grumble
I hate bass ! Oh how I wish I had never been talked into it 38 years ago ! Still, could have been worse, I could have taken to one of those tiny little things they call 'guitars' . Fiddly little buggers that screech and wail like a bad tempered baby. debwilliams
Yep, I love it too. I'm new to it but at the moment there's not much else that I want to spend my time doing. Seems I'm in perfect company here.
Lozz196
31 years and counting. Probably have enjoyed playing bass more in the last few years than at any other time, aside from the initial enjoyment of learning. This co-incides with both joining The Daves (when I realised I`d have to actually start playing properly, and not just winging it), and joining Basschat. Bassman Sam
Played for 43 years and sorry I had to give up due to RA, loved every minute of it. Just wish I could get rid of the GAS, that never goes away.

xgsjx
What's a bass? Still enjoy playing, just like I did when I picked it up just over 28 years ago.
ThomBassmonkey
11 years for me, can't imagine life (and I quite possibly wouldn't be alive) without it.
SpaceChick
I'm still a bass playing newbie.... But have just woken up as I had a great idea for a bassline for a song my band are doing in my dream... Got up to plot it, thought I'd check out Basschat, now back to sleep for me. I LOVE it LOVE it LOVE it
Marvin
Bores me rigid, dum de dum dum dum dum de dum de dum de dum. And so it goes on. Where's the creative expression in that? Just gets me out the house tbh.
JimBobTTD
20 years here, albeit with a hiatus. I now feel that I am beginning to begin to understand the instrument. I wish I had not wasted a few years on guitar and that I had spent more time with music in itself rather than just the genres I like. paul torch
31 years (with a 16 year break).
BassBod
I'm currently refusing to count the years...but I'm still doing it, and getting paid...so I'd better not stop now.
Noah Deere
Roughly 20 years for me as well, I'm not addicted to it though, I could stop any time, if I really wanted to, which I don't.....
