vivabass Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 Up for sale is my all original Fender 1978 Jazz Bass in super rare Antigua finish. This is the real deal folks. I originally purchased this bass in 2002 and I am only the second owner from new. For most of it's life it has either been kept in a case or occasionally used for recording purposes. The body has a few minor chips as you would expect of an instrument of this age. But it has in no way been abused. The neck is near mint in my estimation with a beautiful golden patina to the cellulose coated head stock. Mother of pearl block inlays and white binding. I will post detailed photo's this week so any interested party can make their own judgement as to the condition. I am taking it in to a local luthier so he can expertly remove the neck and pots and take photos so you can verify that this is indeed all original. If you wish any part to be photographed in detail please let me know. This bass has been used on recording sessions with Brendan O'Hare (Teenage Fanclub, Mogwai) and Paul Savage (Delgados) all of whom have commented on the stunning sound of this bass. Even when plugged straight in to the mixing desk this thing sounds the business. I am open to any sensible offers. I am based in Edinburgh and happy for any interested party to check it over in person. I would much prefer the buyer to collect but could be persuaded to courier at the buyers cost. Non-original molded hard shell case included in sale. PS: I purchased a Rickenbacker 4003 from geofio on this site last year and I'm sure he will vouch for my honesty and reliability.
woodyratm Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 Just so you know mate - forum rules require you to state a price. Look forward to seeing pictures though!
Machines Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 Please read the forum rules - if you want offers then put it on eBay, if you want to sell it here you must state a firm price.
vivabass Posted July 15, 2012 Author Posted July 15, 2012 £1600. No trades. Apologies for not stating this earlier. I was unaware of that forum rule.
DirkThrust Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 Pictures would really help your sale, if only so we could drool over an old Fender in a rare colour
