greyparrot
I picked up a RKS flightcased brand new with certificate and letter stating that it is very low serial number usa made a-bass! Paid £500. This rep that came in wanted to shift it and offered it to us, so i bought it. It has futuristic looks, and playes and sounds amazing. While its not eveybodys cup of t when you pick it up n play it, it makes sense! It gets its first gig tonight. (5 string by the way) These sell for around £1100-£1500 but i bought it to keep, as i think its so cool! I also can get a dean b2 blomberg sig for £400 pand p included in black. I have one of these myself, and b4 anyone says dean, take a look at the reviews on it, i think you may be impressed. I have warwick but they dont sound a patch on this thanks to the fishman p/u. Any one wanna c photos and is interested, email me, i can get 2 and at this moment are available. £400 includes next day parcelforce 24 they retail @ £699 im essex based. Wooks
If it's like RKS is like the one on the website RKS ABass Then that's a pretty bass, me like!! I don't suppose you can get another RKS?? Edited April 25, 2008 by Wooks

Wooks
Yeah it is a strange shape but it's a looker. I just love the wood and finish....me want one  I've noticed a flaw though it's got no knobs to play with where's the volume, tones etc?? How does that work then?? greyparrot
ha ha the knobs are heavy chrome and they are underneath the pick up, they call them groove knobs, they are very accesible when playing. I will post pics tomorrow, but she gets her first outing tonight! will keep you posted. I really dont think i can get more, this is the last one in the contry so i belive. BigRedX
WTF!? I've been after one of these for the last 2 years, but not even found a shop that stocks the guitars let alone the basses... Unless there are some more knocking about in this country, I'm probably going to have to import one from the states. Unfortunately unlike the examples on the RKS website there are one or two less than desirable looking basses knocking about, like the particularly ugly one that's been up on eBay for the last couple of months. You might want to mention to your rep when you see them next that there is a (limited) market for these basses in the UK and if the shops won't take them, then maybe they should consider selling direct. In the mean time I'll look forward to the photos you lucky, lucky b@st@rd ;-)
3V17C
oooh i actually really like the Bromberg b2 basses... no cash at the mo so the dreaded GAS is thwarted! not a fan of black either - the natural and blue ones are v nice though. peace c
yorks5stringer
I got my RKS on ebay about a year ago as new, and paid considerably less than any of the prices quoted above, although not with fitted flightcase. They are great playing and balanced basses. Thomann sell them but at silly money so a US import could be worthwhile. Mine is now with another Bassschatter now and he loves it! greyparrot
Update............... well she got her first night out and the bass was wonderful, great sound, great feel great balance, so comfy. It is heavy, but the weight to balance made it feel like it was half the weight. The frets in the upper neck past the 14th freat were just under your fingers, and although passive it was as load as any active bass with more punch than most. Was gonna use warwick tonight, but that is staying in the case........hmm warwick corvett baubinga in the for sale section?? We will see!! Thorman i think have one A bass in stock for £1100.
