Gust0o
MIne is Sex on Fire. I love playing it live. Especially when the rest of the band are playing another song. I find it keeps them on their toes.
Bloc Riff Nut
Thanks, Haha I might have to bring that up tonight at practice. Another favourite is pink floyd - money
If your singer looks like Eric Idle you could get a bit of a sketch going ;-)
wombatboter
I'm actually quite a fusion-addict but I find myself really happy playing bass on "Sultans of Swing". It's just a great song and I never get tired of it... When you play it with a great guitarplayer who can stretch it out the way it should, it's just great fun. Oopsdabassist
We threw in Born to be wild as an end of evening crowd pleaser last week and I had a ball with it, even the lead guitarist let go and had some fun, ended up more like the Slade version, went down ok too! And I got to fiddle about up the dusty end!!! I wish we had recorded it!
rogerstodge
We used to do phantom of the opera by iron maiden at rehearsals, great tune plenty of fumbling, never did get to play it at a gig tho.
Raslee
If playing with my soul outfit i love playing Dusty's version of 'Son of a preacher man' - it's like a kind of stoned line, if playing reggae i quite like 'Johnny be Good' Peter Tosh version & if playing Ska then 'Ghost town' is good fun. Must confess to getting into my blues/jazz walking though at the mo and really enjoying 'Zoot suit riot' by the Cherry poppin Daddies...i don't play it note for note though.... i just do my own walk...with a few trips on the way (not the LSD type btw)
pnefc42
I'm really enjoying playing 'Sledgehammer' @ the mo with my 80s band - it's a great grooving line, simple but really tight. Our Singer really nails the vocal too. Always goes down well since being put in the set

Any gigs anytime soon?
The Dark Lord
Another Girl Another Planet by The Only Ones. A bit out of left field - people always tell us they love that one.

Born in Preston & a life long North End fan! Like you say though, great song! Edited July 18, 2012 by pnefc42
Roland Rock
As far as covers are concerned, I Loved playing 'Boys keep Swinging' with my old Bowie band - driving root notes in the verses, nice bit of BVs in the chorus and an outro with total freedom to improvise and make it sound as crazy as possible. SpaceChick
Only in a rehearsal stage rather than a live performance stage at the moment, but am loving playing "Need your love so bad" and "Another brick in the wall - part two" with the band
Oopsdabassist
Radar Love.
Ooooh yeah thats another goodie!!, At our last gig, after the drum solo, and before the bass bit, I threw in a couple of bars of The Chain seeing as it was British GP weekend, seemed to go down well, had to transpose to B though, to fit it in!
