What kind of bass was Martin Blunt playing on Jools Friday night?It looked like an old P re-issue or something.Good solid thump with nice tone

i think it is something to do with Staus and Ashdown. I seem to remember the bass player from embrace talking about something very similar in an old Bass Guitar Magazine.

One of status' vintage series i would guess. The bass gallery sell his model but its not on the status website!

Its a Status Vintage PP custom with a P bass pickup instead of the chrome hummbucker. Similar to the Guy Pratt model. If the link doesn't work the go to the Status Graphite website and look at the vintage range under basses.

That is such a copy of the Fender Telecaster bass, I just wonder why anyone would choose one and not an original Fender version.

You surely do not need any other type!
