... At one point someone told me that all of them are 'broad necks'. Are there no exceptions to this ??.

I'm referring to the string spacing (at bridge ?)...
http://www.warwick.de/media/options/neck/neck_dimensions.pdf the 'fat neck' and 'thin neck' options a depth back to front. Broad neck is width... and warwick bridges can change string spacing on bridge

Well... As standard, 5- and 6-string SS1 have a 20mm spacing at the bridge. It can be adjusted +/- a couple mm, but a 5- or 6-string Streamer Stage 1 will have a noticeably wider neck than say a 5- or 6-string Streamer LX. Fact. Of course there's still the Custom Shop will all its options etc.

So do they make different bridge components for the broadnecks to facilitate the wider spacing?
Yes. I think if you look through the custom shop gallery on their website you can see some broadnecks and some standard spacing and you can see the difference in the tail piece.

Edit: And if you look at their web shop you can see they offer "wide" versions of their bridges.

The Streamer Stage 1 5 & 6 string models come standard as a Broadneck, meaning 20mm spacing at the bridge. 19mm is the standard spacing for 4 string basses, and other 5 & 6 string models come with a 16.5mm string spacing as standard. You can find many details here: http://www.warwick.d..._dimensions.pdf and here: http://warwick.de/modules/custom_shop/options.php?TYP=WOOD_NECK&submenuID=14620&katID=14626&cl=EN Please let me know if you have any questions, or if I can assist in any way. Thanks!

Hi Torben !

You have right answers with all these groove fellows.

Broadneck (20mm, 4 string spacing) on Stage I, that's the main difference with the serial (non Custom shop) Streamers : Stage II, LX...
Optimal ergonomy for slapping.
Need to practice a little bit more for fingerstyle if you have little hands
