Torben Hedstrøm Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 ... At one point someone told me that all of them are 'broad necks'. Are there no exceptions to this ??. Quote
Bloc Riff Nut Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 i'm not sure what 'broad neck' means as far as measurement goes, but my 1988 SSI feels smaller/thinner than my 75 reissue jazz Quote
Torben Hedstrøm Posted July 18, 2012 Author Posted July 18, 2012 I'm referring to the string spacing (at bridge ?)... Quote

LukeFRC Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012
I'm referring to the string spacing (at bridge ?)...
http://www.warwick.de/media/options/neck/neck_dimensions.pdf the 'fat neck' and 'thin neck' options a depth back to front. Broad neck is width... and warwick bridges can change string spacing on bridge Quote
Torben Hedstrøm Posted July 18, 2012 Author Posted July 18, 2012 Facts... I really like facts . -Thanks Quote
such Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Well... As standard, 5- and 6-string SS1 have a 20mm spacing at the bridge. It can be adjusted +/- a couple mm, but a 5- or 6-string Streamer Stage 1 will have a noticeably wider neck than say a 5- or 6-string Streamer LX. Fact. Of course there's still the Custom Shop will all its options etc. Quote
Lfalex v1.1 Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 So do they make different bridge components for the broadnecks to facilitate the wider spacing? Quote
mart Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 (edited)
So do they make different bridge components for the broadnecks to facilitate the wider spacing?
Yes. I think if you look through the custom shop gallery on their website you can see some broadnecks and some standard spacing and you can see the difference in the tail piece. Edit: And if you look at their web shop you can see they offer "wide" versions of their bridges. Edited July 18, 2012 by mart Quote
Warwick_Official Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 (edited) The Streamer Stage 1 5 & 6 string models come standard as a Broadneck, meaning 20mm spacing at the bridge. 19mm is the standard spacing for 4 string basses, and other 5 & 6 string models come with a 16.5mm string spacing as standard. Broadneck (20mm, 4 string spacing) on Stage I, that's the main difference with the serial (non Custom shop) Streamers : Stage II, LX... Optimal ergonomy for slapping. Need to practice a little bit more for fingerstyle if you have little hands Quote

mokkat Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 When did they swap to broadneck as the standard SS1 model? In the 90s, at least in the start AFAIK, they were like maple SS2s Quote
Bloc Riff Nut Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Just measured my ss1 1987 and 20 mm. Or so i think, my eyes aren,t that good! Quote
