LukeFRC Posted July 19, 2012 Posted July 19, 2012 AND: what percentage of new basses these days - cheap or expensive - need the nut slots cut lower? I've lost track on how many basses I've owned and (bar the Warwicks obviously) I've never ever sat and thought as i've set one up - "man I wish I had a file to cut the nut down a bit. if it were that much of a problem, on all strings... wouldn't it be easier if you take it off and sand the bottom down? SlapbassSteve Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012

The best bit about this fellow is that whilst he seems to barely grasp the basics of setting up a guitar/bass; he is at least kind enough as to give us a detailed account of everything he's done to it, could have done to it but didn't, and why...and then charge roughly twice market value for the effort. Good luck to the man! Quote

Mr. Foxen Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 Pretty much every bass I've had (mostly cheaps) has needed the nut cut lower. And you do each slot alone becuas eits individual to strings. You just don't do it like he does it. Quote

Ou7shined Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 I think the reason he does it too all the trem guitars he gets his hands on is because they can be a pain to set up quick. You've got to have great perseverance doing it on a real cheapo. Quote
