Kevin Glasgow Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 (edited) Hi Folks, Just wondering if anybody's checked out these two records? I just bought them the other day and there's some great stuff on there! I particular I love Jimmy Johnson's grooving on the Allan Holdsworth composition 'Fred'. Some of the most fluid and beautiful bass playing I've ever heard! Alex Machacek's 'Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Brothers' is another incredible track on there. I really like his playing and compositional style. Here's a wee vid of Gary talking about the records:- Edited July 22, 2012 by Kevin Glasgow Quote
visog Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 Yes - I've got vol.1 and there's heaps of good bass playing on it. Jimmy sounds great on most of the tunes. Mark King pops up too. I'm liking the guitarists too. A lot of Allan Holdsworth and a track with John McLaughlin, Steve Hackett and others. Gary Husband has some address book. Quote

It's really interesting to hear Mark and John play together on the track 'Sulley' (on vol. 2). Edited July 26, 2012 by Kevin Glasgow Quote
