Chris2112
Went back and re-learned 'Bling (confessions of a king)' by The Killers properly. What an awesome bassline. Edited November 20, 2011 by Chris2112

EdwardHimself
I've not really played the bass of late but the last song I learned on the bass was a fictional dramatisation of real events. JakeBrownBass
It's Not The Same Old Thing - Col Bruce Hampton. Oteil Burbridge is a monster on this. Got the groove down but theres a single bar fill after the guitar solo, 16th note the triplet run down the neck at about 100bpm, it's making my thumb cry Edited November 20, 2011 by JakeBrownBass
Ian Savage
This month, I are haz been learning a Wildhearts set - Red Light, Green Light Vanilla Radio Sick Of Drugs Top Of The World Nothing Ever Changes But The Shoes So Into You Suckerpunch Rooting For The Bad Guy 29 x The Pain I Wanna Go Where The People Go Love U Til I Don't Not necessarily in that order good fun to play, and my voice and the guy singing lead's blend together in a pleasingly Ginger/CJ manner...might make a couple of quid out of this one and have fun to boot Edited November 20, 2011 by Ian Savage

seashell
Right now I'm stil plugging away at 'So What' by Miles Davis, which my bass teacher gave me as 'homework'. Still loving it, and can just about do it now. But I bet when I try to play it for Teacher next Sat I'll get all tense and mess it up! Still, I hope he'll notice an improvement since the last lesson (3 weeks before!)
Geek99
I'm still learning and so I'm drawing a distinction between " riffs that I figured out the notes for" and things that I can actually play in time properly and so the last thing I learned properly is the chain, basic I know but you have to start somewhere

JPS
Baggy Trousers - Madness Dear Prudence - The Beatles Neither very difficult obviously, just songs I've loved for a long time so finally got round to learning them, also helps keep the playing ticking over whilst I try and find another band. mcnach
Starting to learn some of the new RHCP album. We already did "The adventures of raindance maggie"... yawn. But now it's the turn of "Factory of faith" and "Look around", and these are more fun. Just learnt "Look around", love it. clauster
Pump It Up - Elvis Costello and the Attractions. Verse is quite simple, but very effective and great fun to play. The chorus took me ages to get down though.

Monckyman
Lady Antebellum,I need you now. Sort of country pop cheese. Very larry mullens apart from a nice little ascending riff at the 15th fret. For an audition. Also Sweet Dreams Eurythmics. Difficult to work out what`s for bass and what`s for keys on this. Finally nailed (I think) Patrice Rushens Forget me nots "Come get yer black binbags",and it should be in the set on Sat if the keys player masters the 3 chords. Although im a metal head you gotta love disco basslines...some are just killers!! Great fun to play, and surprising how many people actually recognise the song just from the bassline.
