acidbass
Sir Duke by Stevie Wonder. The verse part is pretty straightforward, albeit with some timing subtleties. But the notoriously tricky horn break (which repeats every chorus) was a right b*st*rd. Took about four hours to nail it. Being able to play it is sweeeet though, and now I'm annoying the hell out of my girlfriend with it. Sounds great on a Precision.
Great bassline! I'm never sure if I'm playing the little run in the last chorus right (the one that starts with the Fm arpeggio type bit) but hey!

Ou7shined
Slade - Merry Christmas Everybody Loving the walky chorus bit. We (my originals band #1) have got a gig on xmas eve and we're gonna bung this in about 3 songs from the end. It'll probably go down a treat. But will it fit with our rather more heavy stuff? Who gives... it's Chriiiiiiiiiiistmaaaaaas!

Ou7shined
Tonight I learned the guts of..... Meat plow Vasoline Interstate Love Song Silvergun Superman Unglued Sex Type Thing Dead And Bloated Wicked Garden Plush Crackerman Down Tripping On A Hole In A Paper heart Guess which covers band we've just stared? Got our 1st rehearsal this weekend, so I've got plenty time to tighten it up. No stressy bass lines to deal with just balls out riffing (I'm really loving the happy bass line in Plush too). And the best bit is after studying DVDs with the lads this evening we've discovered that my playing style is pretty identical to Robert DeLeo's - low slung with lots of prating about on the stage, so I'm gonna look the part too. MANGO i've learnt quite a few this week, but the one that stands out as significant is 'somebody told me' by the killers. mainly stands out as it was the song that finally convinced me to go out and buy a proper tuner. hitchy64
This sounds like most practices I've been to over the years. You spend hours listening and re-listening to songs only for the others to either not bother learning them, or worst still, change their minds and suggest other songs for learning... Yeh...i'v been their!!! Last number was....20th Century Boy - T Rex
