waynepunkdude Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Superstition - Stevie Wonder FUNKY Quote
redzombie Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Guns n' Roses - You Could Be Mine. Not exactly learnt, more like never played it before, but have been listening to the song for years so I just picked it up on the fly. Sort of like confirming what I'd usually have going on in my head when listening to it. Quote

AdamWoodBass Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Teen Town, got it to a decent standard yesterday, just trying to build up speed in the solo at the end. 2 years of working on it, getting bored and frustrated with it and picking it up again a few days later. Worked it all out by ear though which I'm pretty chuffed about, didn't want to use a tab and couldn't find the sheet music. Quote

xilddx Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Halfway through Dupree's Paradise (Zappa), sounding pretty good so far. But I'll never learn Scott Thunes' weird improvisation part, it's so random. Quote

PURPOLARIS Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Ok, my band has decided to do Get On Your Boots by U2 so that's the latest one I've done. I've also been learning a lot of Rammstein songs for the Tribute band I'm in. Going to tackle Seeman next. Very melodic bass line in that one. Quote
Scoop Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 (edited) In order to do a depping gig on Saturday I had to learn Whitesnake's Blindman and Fleetwood Mac (Peter Green Era)'s Need Your Love So Bad, neither of which I'd ever touched before. Also been working, purely for fun, on Tom Petty's American Girl and Pink Floyd's Dogs. Edited March 9, 2009 by Scoop Quote
waynepunkdude Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 Everybody Needs Somebody and Soul Man - Blues Brothers. Am I right in thinking they are Duck Dunn lines? Quote
josh3184 Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 she'll come back to me- cake nothing better than a bit of country bass Well I lie, this is the only country-esque band i like, as the bassist is a genius Quote

Raslee Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Had to work out Billy Jean the other night after hearing half of it on the radio on the way to a gig (in another bands tour bus....bling bling...well festival machine nonetheless...very cool though)-anyhow we didn't play it in the end! Quote
Balcro Posted March 17, 2009 Posted March 17, 2009 (edited) Signed, sealed, delivered, - Stevie Wonder. It's taken weeks. I now need to get the hips and knees in with the groove. Before that "Sweet Home Alabama". Much easier, but they've both brought a smile to my face. Balcro Edited March 17, 2009 by Balcro Quote
