lowdowner Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Our band has been asked to perform at an acoustic night at a local club - the venue owners have said that they wouldn't normally accept an electric bass (philistines!) but they'll make an exception .. (perhaps they're desperate?) I need to get an unobtrusive, small, light, combo amp/cab that sounds like a Genz-Benz 1200Watt 4x15 stack but is no bigger than a shoebox and will make people's pants flap... Any recommendations? *sigh* Quote
JTUK Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 I'd take your GB amp and Berg cabs.... should be quite a small footprint. Not a fan of using single 112 cabs, but in this case, should be ok..how much smaller can you get anyway..? Quote

I'd sound like an imp trapped in a baked-bean can Yup - I guess a single cab is the answer - I may try to persuade them it's the latest in small bass rigs! Quote
Lozz196 Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 From what I`ve read, the EBS Session 60 & 120 combos are great sounding amps, and far louder than their wattage rating would suggest. Quote

Dave Tipping Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Why not just use one cab, turn your amp down and give them what they want? Are you really considering buying a new amp for one acoustic night? Quote

[/quote] I suspect it may be a regular thing - my band used to do a lot of acoustic sessions before I joined so I'd like to be supportive I'm coming down on the side of one cab with existing amp though...
