Hi Jake,
Since Keith, (Yorks5stringer), moved South, I guess there isn't anyone to take up the mantle.
I have been talking to Drew from Manchester Bass Lounge about a Manchester/North West one. Will give him a prompt and see how he feels about it.

I'd happily pop accross for a Manc-bass-bash as it's closer to me than York or Leeds! Obviously my preference would be for a Sheff-bass-bash

Am meeting up with Drew from Manchester Bass Lounge week after next to have a chat about it. Timing could be an issue with UK Bass Day in Oct/Nov, Moffat Bass Bash in Feb and London Show in March.

I'm new to the site and really am just a novice but I can't believe a bash can't be organised for Yorkshire. Am willing to talk to anyone interested in trying to make this happen

Is there an easy mid point in Yorkshire that we can all get to within an hours drive? I guess that means Leeds then doesn't it...?

It all depends on what people want to do for this. A venue would be an easy thing to come by it's just stuff to do etc. ooo and beer

Having never 'bass-bashed' I've no idea what kind of thing goes on, I'd imagine:
- somewhere to have a gander at everyone's gear and natter about it,
- some kind of 'on the day swap-shop',
- mebbe a raffle,
- some industry types telling us how amazing their stuff is (EAD perhaps cos they're only from Preston which is fairly close?)
- some jamming opportunity??
- some local food and drink establishment (possibly the venue could be that establishment?)

...does that sound summat like?

No as far as I know nowt has been sorted yet......we are being slack-as-a-bag-a-knackers.

I still maintain if a proper bass bash isn't on the cards a meet up for a pint should be organised

I won't be anywhere in the vicinity , but I can personally confirm that Yorkshire is probably the best place in the country to drink a pint of beer ( all things considered , it's probably the best place in the country to live when I think about it ) . Both York and Leeds have got so many great pubs ( proving the haven't been closed down yet and replaced by themed bars ect ) and Tetleys , Sam Smiths , Theakstons , Timothy Taylors et al .

You can count me in. How about somewhere like The Adelphi in Leeds? It's in the centre. Is a nice pub. Has a big room upstairs that may be hireable? Either an event or just a beer? Thoughts?
