bassy1223
Hi guys, I am in need of either a bass combo amp or a head and cab. Overall, I am looking to spend no more than £200 in total. I live in the in Sunderland, so anywhere in the north-east for me to pick up. Has anyone got anything that matches my description, or can you just tell me what is good to look out for? Thanks
leschirons
Depends what sort of gigs you're doing I suppose but if you don't need thousands of watts, the Eden Nemesis combos are reliable and good value secondhand. Alternatively the older USA Peavey combos (up to 300 watts) are built like tanks, never break down and are seriously cheap for what they deliver. Loads around secondhand. Lozz196
With the budget available, look at Peavey, Ashdown, Laney, Hartke. All good brands, will easily do the job. For a full band, my advice would be to look for at least 300 watts.
charic
I'd also say keep an eye out for anything Line6... but someone will probably disagree with me
Kesh
I recently bought a 2nd hand 300W ashdown combo for exactly £200. Highly recommended. The issue is transporting the thing from where you buy it. Use gumtree for local stuff. Can you make it to Darlington? This is over priced as it is an old model and equivalent to the £200 one I bought but in cab/amp. So offer him £200 and wait. http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/ashdown-bass-amp/106463808
charic
These are good amps http://basschat.co.uk/topic/167175-ampeg-ba115-combo-l150/

Jack
There's a 'Wanted' section in the marketplace here, maybe try there. I have a Hartke Transporter 4x10", 8 ohms. If you're interested. £75, but I'm not so sure you could find a decent head for £125..................
bassy1223
That's a good idea Jack, I'll post there to! What Watts is you Hartke Transporter??
Commando Jack
What Watts is you Hartke Transporter??
The 410 is 300W. Not the loudest cabs in the world but definitely well worth the money.
Jack
300. I've been using it with a GK MB Fusion (350W @8 ohms) and the rehearsal space's Peavey Nitrobass (300W exactly at 8 ohms). EDIT - My Hartke knowledge is limited, but I think there's been more than one Transporter 4x10". Mine is a H410TP.
