Delberthot
I'm going wireless which means that I want to have a rack tuner instead of one on the floor so there are no cables anywhere near me.Trouble is hardly anyone seems to be making them anymore. I really don't want to spend £300 for the Peterson and that leaves me with the Behringer which is meant to be rotten and the White Horse one that Gear 4 Music sell. Does anyone else still make them? I had hoped to buy myself another Fender one but don't see them anywhere
JimBobTTD
You are right - the Behringer tuner is rotten. I am not sure a rack mount tuner is the way to go. I have a tuner out on my amp...I'm thinking of putting my Korg pitchblack on my rack, ie attached with cable ties, Velcro or something to a rack blanking panel. That way, I can use it on the floor if I so wish and I avoid having the extra weight of the rack tuner.
ikay
This Gumtree ad for a Fender RT-1000 is a month old but may be worth checking to see if it's still available: http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/fender-rt-1000-rackmount-guitar-and-bass-tuner/105539630

Lozz196
I just link my tuner to the tuner out socket on the amp, via a short lead, and leave it on the top of the speaker cab, so still only have the one cable between bass and amp.
Ou7shined
I had an abysmal gig once down in a famous rock venue in Glasgow using the house back-line with built-in Behringer tuner. Bloody thing couldn't give a constant reading all night, my on-stage was wrecked by a loud drummer and it left me feeling paranoid all night that I was out of tune... no one ever mentioned anything so it was just in my head but it spoilt the gig for me. There's a Korg DTR 2000 on the bay just now. I've never tried one but they are supposed to be quite good.
Lfalex v1.1
Don't Korg still do something like a DTR1000 or 2000?
Happy Jack
Don't Korg still do something like a DTR1000 or 2000?
I have one of each ...
mike257
I used to have a Korg DTR-1000, great tuners. I had a mute footswitch on the floor for it though, and eventually decided that if I was going to have something on the floor anyway, it might as well just be the tuner! Delberthot
Thanks everyone - think I'm going to go with the rack tray idea and attach my tuner and wireless receiver to it.
