Hi everyone,

I'm new to recording so here's a newbie question.

There's a Tascam 2488 on it's way to me and it has 4 x XLR Mic inputs and 4 x Line inputs.
I want to use it to record our rehearsals. I'll use the balanced mic inputs for vocals,drums,guitar.(mic-xlr cable-tascam)
I'll use the line inputs for bas, keys, maybe guitar.
Am I right in thinking I need a TRS cable from the line out of my amp to one of the line inputs of the Tascam 2488?

Cheers in advance.

Phil.

Probably not. If it says it is a BALANCED line input then a TRS would be appropriate, but if it is not a balanced input a Mono Jack will suffice. The line out on your amp is probably not balanced anyway.
