Pickup causing buzzing?

Hi guys,

Just got a new Hofner bass, the E string isn't making a sound, seems to be because of it touching the pickup.. I've included some pictures. Can anybody tell me how to adjust the height of the pickups and by how much? Thanks

It looks like the adjustment is something to do with those grub screws on the surround. The only thing is I saw this pic and it doesn't look like yours...



Try slackening yours off and see what happens.

IIRC the grubs hold the pickup in place, and they are also prone to breaking their thread, so be careful.

Got it - just loosened the grubs up a little and then gently pushed the pickup down. Not sure why it was so high to begin with though...
