Roland Rock
Not yet, I'm being very patient. Deposit went down on 22nd June, and the I've been given several etas, but still no sign. It's frustrating when you see others on BC putting down a deposit on 22nd Aug and already being asked for the full balance! I suppose it's a new model so he wants to get it just right. I was momentarily tempted to sack it off and go for the Vintage for sale not far from me, but I really love the idea of the 69er. I suppose good things come to those who wait :-( Edited October 6, 2012 by Roland Rock
funky8884
From what I read the 69er should be worth yhe wait ,I am hoping to place a Barefaced order in december. what amp are you going to use with the 69er?
Roland Rock
I have a custom built Red Iron amp, which has had some modifications done by Champ Electronics here in the UK. It's 100w all valve. 2 x 6SL7s in the pre and 2 x KT88s in the power. Should be an ideal pairing with the 69er!

Jools4001
Just to say that I gigged exclusively with a Big One for two years, using (at different times, natch) an Eden WTX-500, Orange Terror Bass, and rigs based around pedal + Digam Powersoft power amp. With all those rigs, I always got a really transparent, clean sound with no boom at all.
+1 I've gigged my Big One for a couple of years as well. I drive it with a Pod XT Live, an ART ProChannel and a bridged Crown 1000XLS. I'm no spring chicken and I've used rigs from Ampeg, Trace, GK, Marshall, Hiwatt and Eden amongst others over the years. It took a bit of a learning curve for the rest of my kit to play nice with the Big One because it is so transparent it will reveal stuff you didn't notice before.I've got it cracked now and it's the best rig I've ever had,. You know that the Big One sounds awesome when non-bass playing, non-musicians tell you that your bass sound is the best they've ever heard. It's cured my cab GAS anyway....well....except maybe for a super

Roland Rock
Well, I've just been told by Alex that '69er number 1 is finally ready! (subject to final testing). I've just paid the balance and will get it on Friday. I plan to stick some nice pics of my full setup in the porn forum as soon as the '69er arrives, so I'll post a link on here. Re. Breaking the speakers in, yes I had read that thread with interest. I'm glad gigging it immediately won't do it any harm, and am prepared to reserve judgement on tone until it's been gigged/rehearsed with a few times. Prime Bass, we mostly gig around Nottingham so come and see/hear it for yourself (if you like reggae)
