barryman
Hope someone can help !! I have a bass that has an old, broken split coil pickup. It's knackered. Replacing that is probably not a problem for me. What I want to do is to replace this pup and also add a second pickup. As a newbie I need to know: 1. Can I simply join up with the existing pickup wires and run both pickups off the single volume and single tone knobs currently on the bass. 2. Any tips, links etc to guidance on routing out for a 2nd pickup. I've never had a go at this. BTW, it's a cheap bass, not a 65 Fender Jazz or anything similar, so I'm not going to worry too much about things turning out 90% instead of 100% !! ANy advice appreciated. barrym999 (at) yahoo.co.uk
Ou7shined
Is it possible? Yes. Is it practical/advisable? No. Generally you need to have a separate volume for each or a blend pot. There are various different wiring schematics readily on the web.
