Commando Jack Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 I made it 3:21 in. Is the lesson that Rome wasn't built in a day? Quote
kevin_lindsay Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 (edited) I didn't get as far as 3:21, I was bored senseless by around 3:10. I think the guy needs to develop another lesson along the lines of "don't meander, get to the point!!". Or in musical terns, "don't bore us, get to the chorus!!" hahaha Edited August 7, 2012 by kevin_lindsay Quote
louisthebass Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Just my opinion, but that is the best bass lesson I've ever seen without a single note being played. A ton of sense spoken in 15 mins. Quote
Cameronj279 Posted August 7, 2012 Author Posted August 7, 2012 I agree it's fairly boring and tedious, but I do like what he's trying to say. Quote

Coilte Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Granted, the message could have been put across in half the time, but that message is very valid. Quote
Gust0o Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 (edited) Scott's a dude. He has a very conversational approach. You mIght call it boring. I'd call it honest. Edited August 8, 2012 by Gust0o Quote
PlungerModerno Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 He's not an 'in your face' motivational speaker like the traditional 'Good 'ol US of A preacha' ' school of speakers... Which is why I can listen to him. Good lesson, puts some perspective on things - no nostalgia or B.S. just his opinion and experience. IMO. His lessons have transcriptions. That's awesome! Quote
davey_one_visits Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Great lesson and great message. Probably more applicable to serious players who are aiming to reach a professional level. I think it's good to hear this stuff if you're on that journey. Quote

lojo Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 (edited) I got to 4:11 , cant argue with what I heard, one step or brick at a time (though you cant build a mansion with a few 1000 scott mate) Went to a speech recently done by an olympic swimming gold medalist, she also said tiny steps, her first race she didn't finish (she cried in the middle and left) Her 2nd race the goal was just to finish, and her 3rd race goal was not to come last again, and so on Edited August 8, 2012 by lojo Quote

Now look at this vid and it probably will answer your questions about his real point. Then look at the vid again and I'm sure you'll p. your pants off!
