Cosmo Valdemar Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 (edited) I've just purchased this Spector Rex brand new from Mark at Bass Direct. I've only had it about a month but as usual something else has caught my eye, something has to go, etc, etc... Same old story. As expected, it's in as-new condition and is, as far as I can see, totally blemish free. Official specs: NECK HARDWARE NECK CONSTRUCTION: 3-Piece Rock Maple Neck-Thru Body Design Graphite Reinforced FINGERBOARD: Rosewood NUMBER OF FRETS: 24 SCALE LENGTH: 34" RADIUS: 16" NECK INLAYS: Pearl Dot WIDTH AT NUT: 1.56" STRING SPACING AT BRIDGE: 0.70" BRIDGE HEX KEY SIZE: 2mm TRUSS HEX KEY SIZE: 4mm COLOR: Black BRIDGE: SPECTOR® Die Cast Locking Bridge ELECTRONICS TONE CIRCUIT: EMG® BT™ CIRCUIT TYPE: 9-Volt Active - Boost and cut, bass and treble BRIDGE PICKUP: EMG® 35HZ™ NECK PICKUPS: EMG® 35HZ™ PICKUP TYPE: Passive - Dual Coil BODY Our Professional Series™ REX™ Basses Feature Neck-Thru Body Construction with Maple Wings. Makes no difference to the sound. And despite the shape, it fits happily inside a standard gig bag. Quite a rare beast on these shores, a quick Google search shows they retail at around £839.99 - I'll ask [s]£600[/s] [s]£550[/s] £[s]500[/s] £475 for mine. Collection preferred but can arrange postage if needed at buyer's cost. grumble Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Have a ' I'm in love but she's way out of my league' bump.
Graham Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 I don't normally go in for daft shaped basses, but I actually quite like this; probably partly to do with Rex Brown going quite a lot up in my estimations as a bassist recently
Gust0o Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Ooh, very nice, Cosmo! I have had a lot of time for Rex - in the older underrated bassists thread he was my nomination, some superb work with Pantera.
longtimefred Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 i used to have a holoflash one. it was freaking awesome!!! really miss that bass. the necks on these are soooo easy to play.

Cosmo Valdemar Posted August 24, 2012 Author Posted August 24, 2012 666 views! Surely that's some kind of omen?! Another 'open to offers' bump.
Cosmo Valdemar Posted September 11, 2012 Author Posted September 11, 2012 (edited) I've dropped the price a bit. £600 ONO. Feel free to make an offer. This really is in as-new condition and has hardly been played. Updated with trade options. Edited September 12, 2012 by Cosmo Valdemar
Cosmo Valdemar Posted September 13, 2012 Author Posted September 13, 2012 Bump for price drop and trade options. Make me an offer! Will also consider part exchange with Sansamp Bass Driver or Tech 21 VT bass...
