Roland Rock Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 (edited) I have a few bits lying around which were originally acquired for a quirky furniture project which was abandoned. There is a neck and red body from a Yamaha 4 string, no hardware. GONE There's also a J shaped body. This is definitely an amateur job. Pine body with wenge top. Again, no hardware. In fact I'm not even sure there's a neck socket! Collection only from Bulwell, Nottingham. Edited September 17, 2012 by Roland Rock
alyctes Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 BB450. My diagnosis was that the trussrod was maxed out, but I am a n00b and may have got it wrong. I've got most of the hardware still.
rubis Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 I'd like the Yamaha bits please if they're not already taken
Roland Rock Posted August 15, 2012 Author Posted August 15, 2012 Yes, Alyctes kindly sent these to me when I had ideas about making quirky tables from old bass bodies. Since then, my designs have gone in quite a different direction, and quite successfully so. Consequently I don't think the bass table thing will happen. Rather than have these sit in my workshop, I thought another BCer should have the use from them. Yamaha bits now gone to the turnip-headed Gibsonphile
Roland Rock Posted August 27, 2012 Author Posted August 27, 2012 iPad won't let me initiate a PM. Why not PM me? The wenge faced body is left. Strictly pickup only
Roland Rock Posted September 15, 2012 Author Posted September 15, 2012 I'll take some and post them up on Monday
Roland Rock Posted September 17, 2012 Author Posted September 17, 2012 (edited) OK - as requested, some pics: As you can see, it's an inverted body. The new owner may wish to undergo some inversion reversal work ;¬) Routs are rough and ready. There's a slight saw overcut near the neck The joins seem structurally sound, but not seamless aesthetically The neck pocket is 15mm deep! Edited September 17, 2012 by Roland Rock
