Pete1967
Inspired by my recent experiences, I've decided to do a few mods to a couple of basses and want to make a few scratchplates... could anyone point me in the direction of a source of large sheets of scratchplate material.. not the just about big enough sheets you can buy retail or on flea bay but big sheets I can cut down myself.... Thanks all. Pete
Jabba_the_gut
Can you useTraffolyte for scratchplates? Seems to be the right thickness and comes in sheets up to 4' x 2' http://www.ukengravingservices.co.uk/latest-news/test-post-11 WDMusic and CH Guitars do sheets of material but I guess they are the retail and ebay ones yo have looked at. pobrien_ie
I'm not sure if these may be the just about big enough sheets you were trying to avoid, but you could try this ebay seller: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Custom-world-guitar-parts/Pickguard-plate-material-/_i.html?_fsub=2903224016&_sid=711305886&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322 I've used them before for a standard pickguard and found them good. Someone else also recommended them on a different build thread yesterday.
