Hi all,

I've decided to treat myself to some bass lessons for my birthday in September so I'm looking for a good bass tutor in the Bristol area. Any recommendations? I'm looking for a dedicated bass tutor rather than a guitar tutor who also does bass.

Cheers!

I've found a couple online so far - any of you guys had any experience with these?

Maybe a bit far, but I REALLY recommend the bridge toll to have lessons with Jon.

He is amazing. I travel the same distance as you would need to (albeit from the other direction without the £6 toll) but I think its well worth it.

His thread is here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/97454-cardiff/

Thanks SpaceChick, he certainly comes recommended! I was thinking of taking lessons every 2-3 weeks to give me enough time to try stuff out in practice in between so I don't think the traveling would be too much of an issue really.

never had lessons from him but seen him play quite a lot over the years (and he really can play!) and is a nice guy. Someone told me he moved to bristol recently.

He is indeed based in Bristol and I've got a lesson booked with him on Friday :) I checked our some of his videos and he is a very good player. I would have gone for Jon over in Cardiff but getting over there in good time for a lesson at any decent time of day would be very hard.
