Old Horse Murphy Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I just came across this on You Tube. After watching The Vegas Job earlier this week, I must admit I was left totally underwhelmed by JE's sound, touch and ability and felt rather bad about it as he's always been a hero of mine. I must say though, this clip has made me feel a whole lot better http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50UL2ZRhqoQ&feature=related Quote
Cosmo Valdemar Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I don't know why they didn't upload the whole track, his solo carries on after the vocal. In fact his playing is excellent throughout. I agree about his regular Status sound though, an over-processed, fizzy, artificial tone. And I'm a HUGE Entwistle nut. Quote
CPBass Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Agree. Mind you, you can't fault the sound on The Who Live at The Albert Hall. Sadly his JE band stuff verges on rediculous Quote
JTUK Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I felt like posting on that Vegas gig which was truely awful all round to be frank...and Entwhistle should be rightly canned as the worst culprit. It isn't the most gracious think to say.... but the current deps couldn't make a worse hash of it if they tried.. in fact they give the band gets some well needed cohesion. They weren't bad at the Olympics but these old acts really need to look at themselves... It isn't the first time of late that people have said tsome should retire... will check out the link Quote
JTUK Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 Nope..sorry..but that acoustic link is a mess as well.... Quote
EskimoBassist Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 I love how he still has his signature CLANK even through an acoustic! Quote
Cosmo Valdemar Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 The Vegas Job DVD is pretty dire, it should never have been released. Quote
