Pow_22
Just fired up my Ashdown dual tube for the first time in ages. its loaded with 2 Brimar ECC83's and sounded amazing last time i played through it. I fired it up with it out of its wooden sleeve just to have a look inside. However, the valve behind the VU Meter seemed to light up really quickly when i powered up the amp, kinda like a flash then settled down to its normal glow. The other valve just acted normally. Could this mean the valve is on its way out?
Mr. Foxen
Some old valves light up loads when first on, although usually ECC81 for whatever reason. Some Brimars definitely do it, see it a lot.
brensabre79
Yep My ECC81 loaded compressor does this every time. Also My Vox Tonelab does this whenever its first turned on, that's a JJ Tesla ECC83. Freaked me out the first time it did it, but sounds well still so I'm not changing it!
