Grand Wazoo
Does anyone know someone who could build me a tidy pedal board for about 5 to 6 pedals which are unfortunately all using different ac adaptors ranging from 9v to 12v to 18V ?? pantherairsoft
There are a number of power supplies that can be tailored to different pedals - I use a GigRig Generator and adapters to power my set up, though there are others available. I would think with only 5 o6 pedals that there would be plenty of production boards available (diago, pedaltrain) that would be fine when paired with a supply like the GigRig. If you particuarly wanted a custom board then I would recommend Mal Chapman of GR Cases () who made both mine and Ant's (amongst others on here). Buy a board and a decent power supply and I'll patch it up and tidy the cabling for a few quid - because I actually enjoy this stuff! Grand Wazoo
Thanks but I don't understand, what if one pedal is 12v and the other 9v how is one power supply going to work for both?
The GigRig generator is a 9v supply but the sell adapters which convert the outputs from the distributor to different voltages, so you just buy the adapters needed for your set up. The supply - http://www.thegigrig.com/acatalog/PS_Generator.html The distributors - http://www.thegigrig.com/acatalog/PS_Distributor.html (this is an alternative to a daisy chain) The adapters for different voltages - http://www.thegigrig.com/acatalog/PS_High_Current_Adapters.html Other power supplies that would work would be things like... Pedal power plus 2 - http://www.voodoolab.com/pedalpower_2.htm (allows you to mix cables to make higher voltage) Burkey Flatliner SIX - http://www.burkey.nl/Flatliner%20SIX.html (each output can be either 9, 12, 15 or 18v) T Rex Fuel Tank CHameleon - http://t-rex-effects.com/products/power-supplies/fueltank-chameleon-1.aspx (Similar to Pedal power 2) I can dig up more if you have specific needs. Much of this depends on the actual needs of the pedal in terms of how much it draws... some of the above will power 18v, but only upto a certain draw. Maybe if you tell us the exact pedals you are using I can tell you what will do the job... Shep
