Sounds good in theory, but I am no longer building basses and have sold off all my bench machines, plus now I am earning a decent wage it makes sense to buy and not build ! These two basses were early 'parts' builds with imported bodies and necks before I started hand building from scratch. Edited October 6, 2012 by Prosebass Quote

Wotcher Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012
Here's my recently acquired 2005 CAR Jazz. I think it's fab - probably the nicest bass I've ever owned
Hi I've got one like this and was told it's Chrome red rather than car. Apparently a colour used on s1 jazz and ps for 2004 only. Anyone able to confirm this? Quote

bh2 Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 (edited) Cheers Milty... Yes... it's got an East in it, superb sounds. In my yoof I managed to 'lose' most of the original parts including the frets. Might do a total restore on it one day. Ant... those CV Jazzers are superb, would make a great start for a replica project. Edited October 10, 2012 by bh2 Quote
BassBod Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 I still think those cream DiMarzios are great pickups...however "wrong" they may be to vintage enthusiasts. And they don't hum. Quote
I like it. I'd really like to do a matching ehadstock on it if I can get the right Squier decal, I'm also seriously considering taking the pick guard off altogether and putting some hepcats in it. Quote
bh2 Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 I recall the CV suffers from the ubiquitous routing trench, which is a real shame. I was going to get one and add the dual concentric pots control plate, matching headstock, covers, reverse machines, and a defret. Might still have a go when funds allow. Quote
AntLockyer Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 That's no bad thing, at least I cvan stop agonising over it. I can never decide itf it looks great or crap I guess a white plate is the next best thing, the tort one it comes with isn't great to my eyes. Quote
