mr zed
Hi all - i've decided to withdraw this bass as i've just spent the weekend bonding with it. Some subtle tweaks on the EQ has her sounding just right. Gigged her on Saturday night and it's now all falling into place. Thanks for all the PM's/trade offers etc. Up for sale is my EBMM 25[sup]th[/sup] Anniversary 4 string bass (the model which later became the Reflex). This is in the HSS configuration and has a book matched flame maple top over an ash body (with a mahogany tone block) and a maple board. The quality of finish on this bass is just stunning. There are no marks, scratches, dents or dings of any sort – it is unmarked, mint, and absolutely as new. Of course, this comes with the Music man original hard shell case. I bought this bass new in March of this year but it has only been played a handful of times. The serial no. is F22747 and the date of birth is 1[sup]st[/sup] May 2009. The history of the bass so far was that it was supplied to Colin at Sound Me Out in September 2009 where it was checked, photographed then put into climatically controlled storage, un-played and not displayed until it was bought by me – factory fresh as it were. Why am I selling? Well, I’ve realised that I tend to stick with one tone when playing with my band. That tone is what I’ve been getting from my Fender Jazz deluxe which I’ve been using for the last couple of years. That is the tone that is in my head and it just works for me in the mix. Whenever I use the 25[sup]th[/sup] I end up dialing in the active jazz tone and sticking with it (middle single coil pickup). I suppose it’s what I’m expecting to hear and everything else just sounds too different to me in the context of what I’m used to hearing. It is a waste, to have all the versatility that this bass offers and not to be using it. So, it’s time to offer her to someone who will get the benefit of all this versatility. She’s up for sale for £2200. I may be open for trades but I think I’ve already found Nirvana with my Jazz. However you never know – there’s still a lot of GAS left in me even after the sobering realisation that I already have what I’ve been looking for (if that makes any sort of sense!). Ed Friedland (The Bass whisperer) wrote a review of the same spec of bass which can be viewed here. Sound clips are also available in this review. Alternatively I could arrange to ship at the purchasers cost. Edited August 27, 2012 by mr zed

mr zed
Hi Ioic Bass - thanks for your offer. I have decided to withdraw the 25th Anniversary from sale. She's a keeper (for the time-being at least). I have just had a look at your Benavente Vortex and it is indeed a stunning looking bass. If I hadn't just bonded with the 25th I would be seriously considering a trade with you. Best of luck with your sale.
