Compact stand for offset bodied bass

I've had a search on BC, but haven't seen what I'm after.

I have a new bass with an offset style body, a bit like a Jazz. I like to take a stand to gigs but the new bass does not sit safely on my existing stand. So, my criteria are:

- safely accommodates an offset-style bass
- fits in the pocket of my gig bag, a Mono M80. The large pocket on this is approx 35cm x 25cm and a few cm deep.

Any suggestions would be welcome. Ta

I would also like to know this. I cannot find anything more appropriate than this but I'm not convinced.

I've not seen one of them hangars that stick out of your amps jack socket things. Somehow the idea of the jack socket of my little car stereo amp supporting the weight of my bass fills me with dreadful thoughts of crackling amp cutting out halfway through the set! That or the bass falling over and taking the amp with it!

I assumed that Jon was basically saying 'why not lean your bass against your lead's amp input jack like everyone else?'

I'd be nervous about that, besides, the lead plugs into the bottom of the bass, so I'd rather not rest it on the ground.
That Hercules one looks ok - any idea of the folded dimensions?

Hercules stands are excellent and come in a variety of configurations to suit your needs.

I never leave home without mine. Good build quality, very secure and a reasonable price for the assurance of protecting your gear :)

Whether though any of these fit your requirements for a gig bag fitting scenario I can't say. If you're that precious about the bass, it may be better to have a bigger stand and simply carry it. They're not that heavy and don't inconvenience that much.

None of the stands that I've come across that will support an off-set body are small enough to fit in the Mono gig bag.

The simplest by far is the hercules that supports the bass from the headstock - GS412B or GS414B

Otherwise have a look at this stand from Quik-lok but unless they've significantly changed the design it won't fold down small enough, plus it's heavier than the hercules.

Cheers for all the suggestions and advice folks. Hmmmm, looks like some compromise may be in order. I suppose carrying a stand separately is not such a hardship :-)

Edit, this looks pretty good

If you do I can heartily recommend one of these Ultimate stands

Mine has had offset basses - Jazz, Jaguar and Thunderbird - at various times and is a good quality bit of kit. Folds to 21".

Ok, I conceded that I wouldn't be able to find a small one, so bought the Hercules one. Just one extra thing to carry, right? First gig, all fine, until I unpack my stuff at home and realise it was left at the venue. I was just so used to one case and amp, that I left it among the other band's kit. Now lost into the ether :-(
