waynepunkdude Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 I have, they are nice but it looks awful Quote
Happy Jack Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 I thought Wayne was saying he reckoned that wasn't actually a Goodfellow, and it certainly is not a typical example of a Spitfire. The bog-standard Jazz pickups, plus the 4-knob configuration, make that pretty unusual, and it's not an arrangement that shows off the Spitfire to its best advantage. Quote

Happy Jack Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 Looks so much better with the GB soap-bars and that knob configuration. 5 strings helps, of course. Quote

brensabre79 Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 This is the trouble with bespoke basses though, and the reason they don't always hold their value. Bernie is a great guy, and his basses are awesome to play. Ask him to build a bass to your spec and he'll do it. Whether anyone else likes that spec is another matter entirely! I bought a Jazz bass a few years ago and someone had gone to great time and expense to fit gold hardware throughout. I thought it looked awful. To each their own... Quote
karlfer Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 How can anybody buy a bass of somebody who says they are "happy to take PAINPal" Quote

That's one of the biggest teases I have seen on BC for ages. My misus would pour petrol over me, light the match and stamp on my ashes if I'd bought it! Quote
