MarshallBTB
Just seen the back page of the new Bass guitar mag, really liking the look of the new ATK basses, and the return of a j pup! Anyone seen these?
bartelby
This one? It's only the prestige model with the neck pickup I normally like Ibanez stuff, but this is just dull. For a Prestige model it looks really cheap. Edited August 23, 2012 by bartelby
El Bajo
What does the mahoosive bridge do to the tone?

MarshallBTB
The one in the mag advert was darker, much nicer looking imo. Far too expensive though, better off with an old 405, used to have one & thought it was awesome!
bartelby
Ah, like this? This looks much nicer: ATK800, not on the Ibanez website. (unless I'm looking at the wrong region)
Schnozzalee
They forgot to paint them
Chris2112
What does the mahoosive bridge do to the tone?
Some people say it adds sustain and resonance. I'm not convinced, though I have never liked the ugly look of that bridge even if the rest of the bass does a fine take on a Stingray. LeftyJ
Ah, like this? This looks much nicer: ATK800, not on the Ibanez website. (unless I'm looking at the wrong region)
Is that a wooden pickguard? A little too posh for a basic workhorse like the ATK imho I love ATK's, I own two and used to have two more, but I prefer the old ones with the triplecoil humbucker. They now have quadcoil humbuckers with different switching, and they slightly slimmed down the bodyshape. I do like the addition of a J singlecoil, but they should have moved the humbucker closer to the bridge on the twin-pickup models, like they did on the old 400 and 1300. jezzaboy
I had one a couple of years ago and whilst it was a decent bass with a good range of tones, it just seemed to have a massive body if you know what I mean. And a chunky neck unlike the SR ibby`s but I imagine that would be one of the reasons for some people buying one.
