lobematt
Hey there, I'm looking for a pedal that I can use to blend the signal of two other pedals together. I know the Boss Line Selector can do it on "A-B MIX / BYPASS" It's got a lot of functions I don't want though so was wondering if there's anything more basic and a bit cheaper out there? Thanks! cheddatom
I really don't think there are any cheaper options (although I agree the LS-2 is expensive for what you need)
phagor
To be honest, it's hard to find something cheaper than the LS2 for blending two signals. Most have more features and are therefore more expensive. I can think of: Wounded Paw Blender v3/4 Ruppert Basswitch (maybe) Small mixer, like a Behringer But I think you could use a simple blend pedal with a splitter lead to blend two pedals: The pedals would probably need to be buffered. Some blend pedals you can check out: Barge Concepts VB JR (defunct now I think) Xotic Effects X Blender Wounded Paw Blender v1 After using a VB JR for ages, I bought an LS2 off Ebay cheap and have been very happy with it. It seems complicated but, to be honest, I just set it A-B Mix and left it; I just tweak the knobs occasionally. One advantage over a simple blend is that you can control the overall level (by turning both knobs up) as well as the blend (balance between the two). fraff
+1 for the LS2. While it may be not what you need to do, it's very useful live too - letting you switch quickly between 2 separate sets of effects & bypass mid-song. Absolutely swear by mine. Dood
+1 for the LS-2 I sat and watched quite a few before leaping on an eBay auction. Very pleased with it. Sure it might not be the rolls royce of pedals, but it gets the job done and has all the major settings us bass players are likely to require. I'd love to have an ls-2 selector close built in one of those tiny SFX enclosures, but for the money, the LS-2 secondhand was a no brainer for my wallet. pantherairsoft
LS-2 is a swiss army knife of pedals. Seriously good for it's money and size. Perfect for what you need plus a million other tasks as well! Fpr the price you can pick one up 2nd hand (£40ish) you can't go wrong. citymariner
There is one on eBay at the min starting at £20. Put your max in and leave it - you may get lucky. I got mine years and years ago and its always been on my board. Been gigging it for about 13 years and its never put a foot wrong!
fraff
Anyone know when the next distribution of LS-2 commission is due to be paid by Boss?

lobematt
Looks very cool, can you blend two pedals together though? Cheers
xgsjx
For what you're looking for, you could make one fairly easily (if you can solder). I made a simple Loop/Blend pedal. xgsjx
That looks cool man but I've just looked at that website and I've never been more confused my whole life...
There's some which are more simple to read than actual schematics on there. I used the "Passive Mixer" schematic which looks like this... You don't have to make it 3 channel. I just used the 2. Hope it helps?
lobematt
Nice one mate, where did you get your bits from? The pedal casing etc? Cheers!
xgsjx
I got most of my bits from these guys... http://www.rshelectronics.co.uk/ They was really helpful when I was trying to work out what I need. Maplin would probably be able to get all the bits too. A good place to go for more info is... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/78585-diy-effects/ I had a couple of hiccups during my build & got loads of help (as is the BC norm). I had an irritating buzz (was due to me getting a wire in the wrong place) and I couldn't get the LED to work (Again, my error. I didn't know LEDs had a + & - & wouldn't work if you put + to -, unlike a filament bulb). I've changed the knobs for ones that are similar to moog & old boss units.
