DiMarco Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 (edited) Hi there folks. Marco here. 44 years of age and 24 years of being a bassist in this life. Long time lover of Warwick basses, located in the Netherlands. Used to play Streamer stage 1, Thumb NT, RiC 4003, Fender Jazz and a MM signature as well. Currently owner of two Dolphin Pro1 models, just sold the third one (a fretless BN). Edited January 26, 2013 by DiMarco Quote
BassTractor Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Hallo daar, Marco. Bert hier. 55 jaren van tijdperk en 1 jaar van zijnde een bassist in dit leven. (Alleen maar flauwekul hoor; ik ben gewoon Nederlander) To continue in English: Welcome to BC! Great list of basses too. And what a fantastic choice of country! I hope you'll enjoy the site, and will share some wisdom and fun with us. best, bert Quote
DiMarco Posted August 26, 2012 Author Posted August 26, 2012 Thanks for the warm welcome chaps. Quote
Silvia Bluejay Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Marco and Verb, haven't I met you somewhere before? (Yes, the Warwick forum...!) Welcome both! Quote
DiMarco Posted August 27, 2012 Author Posted August 27, 2012 Yeah haha I spotted a nice broadneck dolphin for sale on this forum so decided to have a little chat with the owner. I ended up advising him to hold on to that grande instrument... Either way this seems like a nice place to hang. TB is overcrowded so much I can't keep up with the threads there and well let's face it there is more bass stuff besides Warwick. Quote
pdw Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012
Marco, haven't I met you somewhere before?
Ja, op BGF ! Quote
DiMarco Posted September 1, 2012 Author Posted September 1, 2012 I am everywhere on the net really. Well nearly... BGF, TB, Warwick, Rickenbacker, Fender forums and ofcourse here on basschat. Quote
TheGreek Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Hey DiMarco I'm familiar with you from the Warwick Forum (aka FairfaxAikman) - why did I think you were a member here too?? Anyway welcome to this forum... Quote
DiMarco Posted January 26, 2013 Author Posted January 26, 2013 (edited) Time for a little update... I got back two of my old favorites over the past months; a ric 4003 and mm sig fender jazz. For some stuff the growly goodness of my Dolphins is just too much and for oldskool rock tone nothing beats a ric. I am almost complete now, with a custom built fretless Jazz is on its way that has Dolphin pickup configuration. The jazz will consist of a swamp ash body with maple neck and ebony fingerboard. Pickups are J+TJ by Delano. More on this project coming soon. Current stock: Design for le Jazzphin: Edited January 26, 2013 by DiMarco Quote
DiMarco Posted January 26, 2013 Author Posted January 26, 2013 That would lead me straight to the Precipice. Quote
DiMarco Posted January 27, 2013 Author Posted January 27, 2013 Today I fixed what Fender should have... No more funny noises when I simply touch the pickguard. Quote
BassTractor Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013
Today I fixed what Fender should have.
What stuff is that, Marco? Copper/alu tape? It looks like it's easy to apply. That, or you're a master. Garoets, bert Quote
DiMarco Posted January 28, 2013 Author Posted January 28, 2013 Self adhesive copper tape. 2 inches wide. This stuff is simply brilliant! I'm gonna have to treat the Ric with it as well. Ow and while at it meet the terrible trio: "Snarl, Growl and Spank". Quote
DiMarco Posted November 3, 2013 Author Posted November 3, 2013 Update. The fretless still hasn't happened yet due to err well... Stuff. Ric has been getting the extra shielding which destroyed any humming going on. Warwick Dolphin 5 is at the doctors getting a custom made truss rod. Oh and I did get some extra basses in the shape of a new Nate Mendel sig Fender P and a 1998 EBMM Sterling bass. It kills. Here's some pics Quote
DiMarco Posted April 5, 2014 Author Posted April 5, 2014 Collection has been steadily growing, still no fretless though... Added a rather cool guitar as well, 1961 Gibson SG special with Lollar P90's on. Yum! Bass wise lately been exclusively playing the 5stringer so added a backup for that too... Warwick rules! Quote
