xgsjx
I don't see why that pedal wouldn't suit bass too if that's the effect you're after. Though maybe a good multi FX unit would suit you better (Zoom, Line6 or Boss come to mind)? Have a read at Pantherairsoft's blog on Effects bassics. thisnameistaken
All tape echo simulators will alter your sound as the repeats decay, it's the nature of that sound. Don't worry about losing bass, it's often a good thing - too much bass in the repeats can cause a muddy sound.
paulwillson
i just want that sound at that time not all the bells and whistles of a multi effects or even this pedal! I just want a pedal that makes that crazy noise
umph
dd-3 does a similar sound. Or you could always get a space echo ;p
paulwillson
really as i had the DD-7 and i really dont think the DD-3. just to make it clear im not after a delay pedal....im after THAT sound at 3.
xgsjx
Sorry, my bad. You wont get that sound with an effects pedal. After having another listen, the best thing for you to get that sound at 3:30 is an American Bloke.

That should get you most of the way there.

Wil
EHX Memory Boy will self oscillate, has a tap tempo and you can set an expression pedal to control the feedback and bring in the oscillation. paulwillson
had a memory man a while back i couldn't get on with the tap tempo, wasn't accurate enough for me if i remember or maybe i wasn't accurate enough for it!

Wil
Yeah, he's not playing anything at 3:30... I presumed you were after the sound of a delay when pushed into feedback/self oscillation, though, as that's something the Space Echo does quite well? paulwillson
sorry guys i made a boo-boo 10.45 is the sound i want i might jsut grab one of these. Anyone got one?
Wooks79
I had one, flogged it cos I preferred the DD-6 (I think) I'm more after the digital sound.
xgsjx
Cool effect. Certainly better than the one at 3:30. I'd just go for that pedal if that's the sound you want. Going 2nd hand means you wouldn't be wasting money if it ended up not what you want. INteresting use for a Gramma Pad, but I suppose he is a guitarist & wouldn't have any other use for it. Wil
Ok. Most analogue delays will do that if you adjust the delay time while it's feeding back, but that particular sound has Space Echo stamped all over it, IMO.
Wooks79
Could you not just pop pretty much most pedals through a feedback looper to make it oscillate?
paulwillson
i had a feedback looper and it sounded cool but it was too unstable for me kept making HORRIBLE oscilating sounds that were probably damaging my speakers, i tried a naplam audio snowball feedback looper, was nice but too unstable
elephantgrey
you can make that sound with just about any delay pedal with an expression pedal. i like my timefactor, i midi it up to my RC50 to tempo sync and then change the synced delay time, so it keeps in time and still produces those weird sounds. but whilst that effect does have a cool radiohead-ish vibe to it i prefer my ehx flanger hoax for random oscillations. heres a vidio found on the tubes of it making weird sound by itself. really fun toy, and i got mine fore 125 off the bay inc postage if i remember correctly.
