Tort-ing up a Roscoe Beck

I'm thinking about a tort guard for my Roscoe beck but no matter how long I look at a picture of one with a tort guard I cant make up my mind if it works or not.

What do you think, add a new pickguard or keep the white one?

But.. get Howard the Bass Doc to make it for you. He's got some lovely tort in at the moment which is a lot less pepperoni than the usual.

I'd go for it. Personally, I think it looks great both ways so why not have the option to change it up when you feel like it?

Not sure the tort works so well with that colour as it does with black, red or white basses.... Then again, I don't think the stock plate looks that great either

Of the two, I prefer the tort

Been wanting a mirror one for my 4 stringer as long as I've had it.

I wouldn't go with tort on this one, colour clash just doesn't suit. Black or vintage perl might look good.

Cheers for the comments and thoughts, I had thought about black and pearl but I think I quite like the colour clash for some reason. I may get a few and start with the tort. Just need to make sure there is some money free first.

agree with getting a proper one custom made.... there are some cheap and nasty prints out there... and they really don't work

Howard is in the process of making me a tort guard for a '73 P-bass and I can't wait to get it. Tort all the way!!

I think the white one looks more like it belongs on the bass.
